Virslīga side SK Super Nova has announced the signing of former Latvian international Eduards Emsis. The 29-year-old midfielder returns to Latvia after spending the last two years playing in Norway, marking his return after a five-year absence.

Eduards Emsis is a product of the Skonto Rīga academy. In 2014, he joined the FK Metta system, making his Virslīga debut in October of the same year. He spent four additional years at Metta, during which time he made 75 appearances in the league, before moving to FK Jelgava for one season.

In 2020, Eduards began his journey abroad, signing with the Armenian club Noah. During his two seasons there, he won the Armenian Super Cup and the Armenian Cup.

Following his time in Armenia, Emsis played for one season in the Finnish and Albanian top leagues before joining the Norwegian side Raufoss. There, he spent 1.5 years, making 27 appearances and scoring two goals across all competitions.

Eduards Emsis has also represented the Latvian national team, making 33 appearances and scoring two goals. His last game for the national team was in March 2024 against Liechtenstein.

Today, SK Super Nova will face FS Jelgava in the Virslīga. The team has started the season with four points from four league matches and is currently seventh in the league table.
