In today’s Scottish Cup quarter-final, Aberdeen F.C. advanced to the semifinal after defeating Championship side Queen’s Park 4-1. The Latvian national team captain Kristers Tobers missed the game due to an injury he sustained in the last match.
Aberdeen hosted Queen’s Park, who had previously pulled off a remarkable upset by beating Rangers FC 1-0 in the last round of the competition. However, they were unable to replicate that success today. Aberdeen scored twice in two minutes, with goals from Nisbet and Dabbagh, taking a significant lead in the middle of the first half.
By the end of the first half, Aberdeen added another goal, and at the start of the second half, Dabbagh scored his second, extending their lead to 4-0. Queen’s Park managed to claim a consolation goal in the 68th minute through Zak Rudden, but they were ultimately eliminated from the competition.
This marks the second consecutive year that Aberdeen has reached the semifinal. Edinburgh Hearts is the other confirmed semifinalist. The remaining two spots will be determined in upcoming matches between Livingston and Daniels Balodis St. Johnstone, as well as Celtic and Hibernian.
