Goalkeeper Marius Adamonis continues to excel in the Italian Serie B, helping his team, Sudtirol FC, secure a 1-1 draw against one of the league’s top teams, Spezia Calcio.

The 27-year-old, who is on loan to Sudtirol from Catania, made his sixth appearance for the club today. In his previous five matches, he recorded three wins, one draw, and one loss. Today, Sudtirol faced Spezia Calcio, a team eager to return to Serie A after being relegated in the 2022/2023 season.

Adamonis put in another impressive performance, making a fantastic save with his feet from close range during the first half. The only goal he allowed was a header from very close range, which he had no chance of stopping. Despite Spezia being the favorites, Sudtirol came closer to clinching a victory.

Both teams scored once in the first half, but neither could find the back of the net again.

With this draw, Sudtirol moved out of the relegation zone for the first time since November 3, 2024. They currently sit in 14th place with 30 points, while 16th place Sampdoria, which is considered a danger zone, has just one point less than Sudtirol.

Adamonis and Sudtirol’s next league match will be crucial, as they face an away game against Cittadella next Sunday, a team that is currently on equal points with Sudtirol.
