Riga FC women have announced the signing of 24-year-old American center-back Talani Barnett from the Ohio State Women’s Soccer team.
T. Barnett started playing football over 10 years ago, spending her youth years at HBC Impact, a club based in New York City. The American was also the captain of the side before moving to the Ohio State University in 2018.
There she became a concrete starting XI player, becoming a captain during her Senior year in 2022 as her side kept 9 clean sheets in 20 games throughout the season. During her time at Ohio State, Talani picked up many individual awards, also being named in the NCAA Division I Team of the Season in 2022.
In the summer of 2024, she moved to Vietnamese first-division side Ho Chi Minh, where she appeared in all three of their AFC Women’s Champions League group stage matches.
Now she has joined Riga FC Women, with whom she’ll be looking to defend their Latvian league title.
