On Sunday, Raimonds Krollis scored two goals in the Czech Chance Liga match, helping his team, Slovan Liberec, secure a victory against Mlada Boleslav. This was Krollis’s first goal in an official match in ten months. After the game, he expressed his excitement and relief right now in Czechia following a disappointing period in Italy.

We previously reported that Krollis had scored two goals in his first start in the Czech top flight. His time in Italy, following a move from Valmiera FC to the Serie A side Spezia Calcio, which included a loan spell at Triestina, was quite challenging for him.

“This is a perfect start,” Krollis told the club’s press service. “I received a good long pass for the first goal, and for the second goal, a teammate fought for the ball, which I was able to convert. It was a great team performance. Scoring gives me confidence, especially as I haven’t netted a goal in a long time. I also haven’t played in the first team for several months, so it was physically tough, but it will get easier every week.”

When Krollis was substituted in the 71st minute, it seemed he might have sustained an injury, but he later clarified that he was suffering from cramps. A particularly special moment for the Latvian occurred when the fans chanted his name.

“It’s been a very long time since the fans dedicated something like that to me. It was a special moment. I felt like I had broken out of prison when I scored those two goals. It’s always wonderful to win in front of my fans. This victory is important for the tournament standings, and I hope we can continue playing like this,” Krollis added.

“I always want to score more goals, but the most important thing is victory. These two goals felt like a big bonus to me.”

Raimonds Krollis moved to Slovan Liberec from Spezia for a reported transfer fee of around 300,000 Euros. His team currently sits in 10th place in the Czech Chance Liga table, with 27 points after 22 games.

Next up for Krollis and his club is an away match against Bohemians on Sunday.
