In the Italian Serie B, Lithuanian goalkeeper Marius Adamonis secured his third victory in four games for Sudtirol FC today.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper, who began the season with Serie C side Catania in the winter transfer window, joined Sudtirol FC on loan with a mandatory option to buy if the team secures a spot in Serie B.

In his first two games with his new club, Adamonis achieved two wins and two clean sheets. However, he faced his first defeat in Serie B last week, conceding three goals in a 1-3 loss to one of the league leaders Cremonese.

Today, Sudtirol hosted Sampdoria, and Adamonis was named the starting goalkeeper for the fourth consecutive game.

Sudtirol took an early lead when former Serie A player Salvatore Molina, who played for Atalanta, Crotone, and Monza, beautifully set up Albanian forward Silvio Merkaj.

Just five minutes later, Sampdoria equalized by scoring after a corner kick.

By the end of the first half, Sampdoria’s Ferrari received his second yellow card and was sent off the field. Midway through the second half, Sampdoria’s situation worsened when Depaoli also received his second yellow card, leaving them to finish the game with just nine players.

Taking advantage of the situation, Sudtirol was awarded a penalty kick late in the game, which Daniele Casiraghi successfully converted.

Sudtirol’s next match is scheduled for next Sunday when they will travel to Brescia for the game.
