Ikaunieks scores for the second straight game, Karašausks makes his league debut in Cambodia

On Saturday, Dāvis Ikaunieks scored for the second consecutive game, helping his team, DPMM FC, secure a win in the Singapore Cup match. Meanwhile, in Cambodia, Artūrs Karašausks made his official league debut for Visakha FC as they continued their winning streak in the Cambodian Premier League following the departure of manager Jurģis Kalns from the team.

Last week, Dāvis Ikaunieks scored his first goal of the season for DPMM, although they suffered a 2-3 defeat in a Singapore Premier League match, allowing the losing goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

DPMM played against the Young Lions in their second match of the Singapore Cup today. Dāvis Ikaunieks started the game, and early on, he drew a foul that resulted in a penalty kick. The Latvian striker successfully converted the penalty, scoring the opening goal in the 8th minute and giving DPMM the lead.

DPMM extended their lead in the 71st minute when Portuguese player Miguel Oliveira found the net. This victory marked DPMM’s first win across all competitions since November 2nd, when they defeated Albirex Niigata in a league match.

The 31-year-old forward has now made six appearances for DPMM, scoring twice. DPMM’s next match will be on Sunday when they face Tampines in Singapore Premier League action.

Cambodian Premier League, Cambodia

In Cambodia, Artūrs Karašausks made his league debut for Visakha FC today, coming onto the field in the 63rd minute with his team-leading 2-0 against Boeung Ket. The game finished with the same score, allowing Visakha FC to close the gap on the second-place team, Phnom Penh Crown, which is currently four points ahead.

Visakha played without defender Vitālijs Jagodinskis, who was not included in the match squad. This was Visakha’s last regular season game, as the league will now be split into the Championship Group and the Relegation Group.
