On Sunday, Marius Adamonis’ clean sheet streak came to an end in the Italian Serie B as his team, Sudtirol, suffered a defeat. Meanwhile, Edgaras Dubickas, another Lithuanian who joined the Serie B team last week, did not make his debut for Juve Stabia. In contrast, Artur Dolžnikov debuted, coming off the bench for Sigma Olomouc in the Czech Republic.
Serie B, Italy
Marius Adamonis’ clean-sheet streak ended in the match against Cremonese. The 27-year-old goalkeeper, who had secured two wins in his previous two matches for FC Sudtirol, faced a stronger opponent this time, as Cremonese is vying for promotion to Serie A.
In the 28th minute, Adamonis allowed the first goal when Jari Vandeputte scored after the ball sneaked underneath him. At the beginning of the second half, Sudtirol equalized, but as the match continued, Cremonese took control and scored two more goals. As a result, Sudtirol’s two-game winning streak in the league ended.
Sudtirol currently sits 18th in the Serie B league table with 25 points from as many games. Their next match will take place on Saturday when they host Sampdoria.
Edgaras Dubickas, who also moved to Italian Serie B during the winter transfer window, did not debut for Juve Stabia, remaining on the bench during their 3-1 victory against Bari. The 26-year-old forward is on loan at Juve Stabia from Pisa and previously played for FeralpiSalo in Serie C during the first part of the season. Juve Stabia stands 6th in the league table with 36 points from 25 games.
Chance Liga, Czechia
The 24-year-old Artur Dolžnikov, who was signed by Sigma Olomouc from FK Kauno Žalgiris during the winter transfer window, played his first match in the Czech Chance Liga. He entered the game in the 66th minute with his team trailing 0-1 against Banik Ostrava. Unfortunately, the score did not change, and Sigma Olomouc lost to Ostrava.
Currently, Dolžnikov’s club is positioned 7th in the league table with 29 points after 21 games.
Abissnet Superiore, Albania
In Albania, defender Sigitas Olberkis played the full match for AF Elbasani, which lost 1-2 against league leaders Egnatia. This was the 27-year-old player’s fourth appearance for the Albanian club since transferring from FA Šiauliai. AF Elbasani is currently 5th in the league table with 29 points after 24 games. Olberkis and his team will face Bylis next Saturday.
Super Liga, Romania
Goalkeeper Edvinas Gertmonas was suspended in the Romanian Super Liga match because of four yellow cards as his Universitate Cluj lost very important points in the battle for the league title as they drew against Poli Iasi 2-2.
Cluj was leading 2-0 in the 90th minute but conceded two goals in six minutes. This draw dropped them from 1st to 3rd place in the Romanian SuperLiga table. The competition for the title in Romania is heating up, with only three points separating the top five teams. Gertmonas will return as the starting goalkeeper next Monday when Cluj hosts Unirea Slobozia.
