FS Jelgava has announced the appointment of Juris Baumanis as the club’s new Technical Director. With a strong background in business consulting and sports management, Baumanis is expected to bring a fresh strategic vision to the club.

Baumanis has an extensive career in business and management consulting, working as a trainer and consultant for Amber Training & Consulting since 2012. Over the years, he has implemented more than 90 training and consulting projects, focusing on organizational development, strategic planning, and leadership training. His expertise in sales, marketing, and change management has been demonstrated through leadership roles at companies such as Visico Fastening Systems and Consolis Latvija SIA.

In addition to his corporate experience, Baumanis has played an active role in Latvian football, serving as a committee member at the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) from 2020 to 2024. His work in the federation, particularly in women’s football development, has been instrumental in shaping the future of the sport in Latvia.

Baumanis is determined to elevate FS Jelgava to a competitive level in the Latvian Virslīga and beyond. His strategic goal is to develop the club into a stable Virslīga team with aspirations for European competition. One of his main priorities is strengthening the club’s youth system by implementing a structured development plan to prepare young players for professional football.

FS Jelgava must be a stable Virslīga team that competes in European tournaments. That is my primary goal,” Baumanis stated.

He emphasized the importance of a well-defined training methodology to ensure a seamless transition for players from the academy to the first team.

Our youth system needs to follow a clear structure where each age group systematically prepares players for the next level. This will ensure that they are ready to compete at the highest level, either within FS Jelgava or in other top clubs,” he added.

Baumanis also aims to enhance the club’s academy, currently at a “B” level, with the goal of achieving “A” category status. He believes that by maintaining high standards, FS Jelgava’s players can progress to the national team and even secure opportunities in European football.

“The level of competition in Europe is far higher than in Latvia. Right now, only two Latvian clubs are truly competitive at the European level. Our mission is to develop players who can succeed not only in the Virslīga but also in European leagues,” he noted.

Baumanis expressed gratitude to FS Jelgava’s supporters and emphasized the importance of community involvement in the club’s development.

“A huge thank you to our fans for their belief and support. I also want to acknowledge the parents of our academy players, who play a crucial role in their development. We hope that the planned changes will strengthen their engagement even further,” he said.

He also stressed that football should be the leading sport in Jelgava and called for broader public and municipal support.

“We are working together to create the best possible environment for Jelgava’s young footballers and to achieve great success as a club. This is not just the responsibility of the club’s management and coaches – it requires the support of parents and the wider community,” Baumanis concluded.

With a clear strategy and determined leadership, FS Jelgava is set for an exciting new chapter under the guidance of Juris Baumanis.
