Latvian striker Raimonds Krollis has officially returned to Spezia Calcio after his loan spell at US Triestina Calcio 1918 was terminated. The club announced his departure, wishing him luck in his future endeavors.
Krollis, born in 2001, joined Triestina on loan in August 2024 and made 15 appearances across Serie C and the Italian Cup. However, his time at the club was marred by struggles, both individually and collectively, as Triestina endured a difficult season.
Triestina has had a dismal campaign in Serie C – Girone A, with the team currently sitting at 17th in the league standings with 23 points in 25 games.
Krollis himself faced challenges during his loan spell, struggling to make a significant impact. The frustration culminated on a difficult Friday evening when, in the 14th round match against Giana Erminio, Krollis was shown a direct red card in the 33rd minute, leaving his team to play with ten men. Following his ejection, Triestina’s Spanish head coach, Peps Clotet, reacted furiously, physically shaking the Latvian forward in frustration.
Krollis’ future at Spezia remains uncertain. Previously, there were rumors that FC Slovan Liberec were interested in the services of the Latvian striker, but currently, there is no information on this going forward.
