Faroese club HB Tórshavn has announced the signing of Latvian goalkeeper Reinis Reinholds, who most recently played in Italy.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper began his career at the FK Ventspils academy before moving abroad to join the Italian club Latina’s system in 2015. After spending nearly five years with various lower-league Italian clubs, he returned to Latvia in 2021, serving as a backup goalkeeper for Valmiera FC for half a season.

Following his brief stint with Valmiera, Reinholds took a two-year break from football but returned in 2023 after signing with the Italian lower league side Capo Rizzuto. His last club was the Italian fifth-tier side Sciacca.

HB Tórshavn, his new team, is the third-oldest club in the Faroe Islands, founded in 1904. The club has won the most titles in the Faroese Premier League, with a total of 24 championships, the last of which was in the 2020 season. Last season, they finished third in the Faroese Betri-deildin, known as the the top division in the Faroe Islands. And next season, they will compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League’s first qualifying round.
