FK Liepāja has loaned two promising young defenders to FK Metta, aiming to provide them with valuable playing time and further development. The players have already joined FK Metta’s training sessions and will not travel with FK Liepāja to their training camp in Turkey.

One of the players, 19-year-old Alans Kangars, is a FK Metta academy graduate who joined FK Liepāja last year from Skanstes SK. In his debut Virslīga season, Kangars made 25 appearances, amassing nearly 2,000 minutes of top-flight experience. Recently called up to the Latvia U21 national team, Kangars found himself competing for playing time at Liepāja following the arrival of several experienced full-backs, including Kirils Iļjins and Vladislavs Sorokins, both of whom have been previously called up to the senior national team.

The second loanee is 17-year-old Aleksandrs Molotkovs, who joined FK Liepāja this winter after an impressive debut season with BFC Daugavpils. Molotkovs played 28 Virslīga matches last season, earning a spot in the Latvia U19 national team. Despite his strong performances, FK Liepāja has opted to loan him to FK Metta to ensure he gains regular minutes.

Both players are now part of FK Metta’s squad, where they will have opportunities to continue their development in the Latvian top flight.
