Lithuanian youth international Skirmantas Paukštys has moved to Italy and joined the Serie C club SS Monopoli 1966 system.
Last season, the 18-year-old midfielder, who is a product of the BE1 Academy, was a regular first-team player for BE1 in the Lithuanian Pirma Lyga, where he scored nine goals.
Monopoli Academy Director Alfredo Piarulli and BE1 owner Andrius Markevičius reached an agreement to provide Skirmantas with the best opportunity to further develop his career in Italy.
Born in 2007, Skirmantas impressed Mister D’Ermilio, the head coach of Monopoli’s Primavera team, convincing the club management to invest in his development. He will be available to play in the upcoming derby against Bari on Saturday in the 16th round of Primavera 2.
