SK Super Nova will strengthen their squad by adding two Latvian players with Virslīga experience: midfielder Kristers Čudars and goalkeeper Frenks Dāvids Orols.

Following the surprising departure of last season’s starting goalkeeper, Kristers Bite, who joined FK Auda this offseason, manager Ervīns Pērkons needed to find a new number-one goalkeeper. And he has found one in Frenks Dāvids Orols from the champions FC RFS, who will be loaned to SK Super Nova for the upcoming season.

Orols, a 24-year-old shot-stopper, enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career last year, helping BFC Daugavpils achieve a surprising 5th-place finish in the Virslīga. Last season, while on loan at BFC Daugavpils, he made 29 appearances and kept the clean sheet ten times.

His impressive performance earned him a call-up to the Latvian National Team for the first time, although he is still awaiting his debut.

Kristers Čudars, a 25-year-old midfielder, played last season on loan at Grobiņas SC/LFS (now known as FK Grobiņa) from Valmiera FC. He was brought to Grobiņa as an experienced midfield presence but unfortunately suffered a season-ending injury during a match against FS Jelgava. This injury limited him to just 8 appearances in the Virslīga last season.

Prior to his time at Grobiņa, Čudars won the 2022 Virslīga title with Valmiera FC, where he made 24 appearances during that championship season. He has also played for Riga FC, FK Liepāja, and FK Metta.
