According to our sources, 18-year-old goalkeeper Kristers Gabriels Bite has moved from Nākotnes Liga champions SK Super Nova to Virslīga club FK Auda.

Bite began his career in Jelgava, where he made his Virslīga debut at just 16 years old during the 2023 season in a match against RFS, conceding two goals. For most of that season, he served as a backup behind Edgars Andrejevs and Raivo Stūriņš, the latter of whom he will now reunite with at FK Auda.

In 2023, Bite joined SK Super Nova under his former coach Ervīns Pērkons and delivered an outstanding season. Securing the role of first-choice goalkeeper, he played 24 matches and conceded only 11 goals, keeping 16 clean sheets in the Nākotnes Liga.

His impressive performances caught the attention of Viktors Dobrecovs and Viktors Spole, the head coach and goalkeeping coach of Latvia’s U19 national team. Bite earned a call-up to the U19 squad, where he played five matches, starting four and splitting time in another, conceding six goals against opponents like Slovakia, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

Now joining FK Auda, the question remains whether the talented young goalkeeper can compete with established players like Krišjānis Zviedris and Raivo Stūriņš for a starting spot. If not, FK Auda may consider loaning him out to ensure his development continues uninterrupted. It is reported that Bite has signed a 3-year deal with the club.
