Oskars Vientiess announced as the new FK Liepāja player

FK Liepāja continues to prepare for the new Virslīga season as they have announced the signing of former FK Metta captain Oskars Vientiess.

The 22-year-old center-back has been with the Metta Academy since the age of 9, progressing through all the youth ranks. He made his Virslīga debut in 2019 at the age of 17.

Over six seasons with the Metta first team, he has made 155 appearances in the Virslīga and scored twice. For the past three seasons, Oskars has been one of the leading players for Metta and has also served as the team’s captain for the last two seasons.

Last season, Oskars played 34 league matches, starting each one and scoring once. Vientiess was called to the Latvian National team for the first time in 2023, but he has not yet made his debut.

In addition to Vientiess, FK Liepāja has also announced the signings of former Valmiera FC forward Djibril Gueye, goalkeeper Dāvis Ošs, defender Vjačeslavs Isajevs from FK Auda, his Metta teammate Bruno Melnis, and defender Vladislavs Sorokins, who played in Kazakhstan last season.
