FK Grobiņa has announced multiple key roster moves ahead of the 2025 Latvian Virslīga season. The club has bolstered its squad with the signings of experienced goalkeeper Vladislavs Lazarevs and promising midfielder Tomašs Mickēvičs, while also securing the continued services of defender Dāvids Družiņins.

The 27-year-old Latvian goalkeeper, Vladislavs Lazarevs, joins FK Grobiņa after a spell with FK Liepāja. Lazarevs brings a wealth of experience, having played across several clubs domestically and internationally. In the 2024 season, Latvian goalkeeper played 18 matches. During this time, he achieved five clean sheets and conceded 27 goals, averaging 1.38 goals per game.

Another exciting addition is 18-year-old midfielder Tomašs Mickēvičs. Mickēvičs arrives from Riga FC, where he developed through their youth system and primarily featured for their second team in the Nākotnes Līga. Despite his youth, Mickēvičs has already been called up to represent Latvia at the U21 level, showcasing his potential.

The club has also confirmed that Dāvids Družiņins will remain with FK Grobiņa. The 21-year-old center-back was a cornerstone of the defense last year. Družiņins has already established himself as one of the most reliable defenders in the league and has earned a cap for the Latvia U21 national team.
