Latvian forward Artūrs Karašausks has officially joined Cambodian Premier League club Visakha FC. The 32-year-old striker, who most recently played for FK Liepāja, brings a wealth of experience to his new team, where he will be joined by fellow Latvians – head coach Jurģis Kalns, assistant coach Renārs Rode, and center-back Vitālijs Jagodinskis.

Karašausks began his career in Rīga as a youth player at JFC Skonto academy before making his professional debut at 17 with JFK Olimps/RFS in the Latvian Higher League. He quickly showcased his talent, scoring 10 goals in 18 appearances during his first season and earning the Young Player of the Year award.

In 2010, he moved to Skonto Riga, where he played a key role in helping the club win the Latvian Higher League title. His performances earned him a loan spell with Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, followed by stints in Russia with Rubin Kazan and Switzerland with FC Wil. Karašausks later returned to Latvia, where he played for clubs such as FK Liepāja and Riga FC, along with brief spells in Cyprus and Poland.

Karašausks made his debut for the Latvian national team in 2010 against Ghana, becoming the first player born after Latvia regained independence to feature for the senior squad. He earned multiple caps, contributing to the team’s efforts in FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro qualifiers.

In the 2024 season, Karašausks played for FK Liepāja, featuring in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers and the Latvian Virslīga. He scored three goals in 11 matches across all competitions before completing his move to Visakha FC.

Visakha FC, currently third in the Cambodian Premier League, is looking to strengthen its squad as it aims to challenge for the title. Karašausks will add firepower to the team, reuniting with Latvian coach Jurģis Kalns and assistants Renārs Rode and Vitālijs Jagodinskis, forming a strong Latvian contingent at the club.
