Riga FC announced plans to spend three weeks in a training camp in Dubai, departing snowy Latvia on the 9th of January.

The Latvian vice-Champions are starting their pre-season proper with a, by now, traditional three week training camp in Dubai, the club announced on their home page. Like many other Latvian clubs (RFS excluded, due to their continued participation in the Europa league), the lions reconvened their squad for initial trainings on the 6th of January and will fly south later in the week.

Whilst there, Riga FC will play three friendly games against:

  • the local “United FC” on the 19th,
  • Slovakian “Žilina” on the 23rd, and
  • Uzbek “Sogdiana” on the 27th.

Riga FC are still yet to announce a replacement head coach for Simo Valakari, who was released at the end of last season and had gone to the Scottish St. Johnstone FC.
