Latvian left-back Ņikita Martiņenko has completed a transfer to Brindisi FC. The 18-year-old defender continues his career in Serie D – Girone H, stepping in after a spell with Casarano Calcio earlier in the season.
Martiņenko started the 2024/25 season at Casarano, where he made 14 league appearances and featured once in the Coppa Italia Serie D. His performances contributed to Casarano’s strong league campaign, with the club competing near the top of the table.
Before moving to Italy, Martiņenko played for JDFS Alberts in Latvia’s Nākotnes Liga, where he featured in 52 matches across two seasons from 2022 to 2024. During his time in Latvia, he also represented Latvia’s U19 national team, highlighting his potential as a promising talent.
Currently, Brindisi faces a challenging campaign, sitting at the bottom of the table, and will rely on fresh reinforcements like Martiņenko to strengthen their defense.
