FK Metta has announced that forward Artjoms Puzirevskis will leave the team to join the Italian Serie D side Sondrio Calcio.
The 21-year-old forward has been a part of the Metta system since 2016, making his Virslīga debut in 2020 at the age of 17. Last season, he was on loan at FC Tikves in North Macedonia, where he won the North Macedonian Cup. However, he had limited playing time during that loan, making only five appearances and contributing with one goal and one assist.
Upon returning to Metta, Puzirevskis completed the season, scoring two goals in eight league matches. In total, he made 110 appearances across all competitions for FK Metta, scoring 26 goals.
Sondrio Calcio competes in the Italian Serie D and is managed by Marco Amelia, a former World Cup winner with Italy and two-time Serie A champion. Currently, Sondrio also features another Latvian player, Mārtiņš Lormanis (19), who joined the Italian football scene in 2021 through the AC Pisa system and is in his first season with Sondrio.
