FC Džiugas Telšiai, which finished sixth in the A Lyga, announced that team captain Lukas Ankudinovas and goalkeeper Marius Paukšte would remain with the club for the upcoming season.
Lukas Ankudinovas, 29, who plays as a center-back and midfielder, will represent Džiugas for his fifth season. He has served as team captain for the last three years. During the recent season, Lukas made 28 league appearances, scoring a personal best of three goals. Overall, he has played 124 matches for the Telšiai squad, netting eight goals.
Goalkeeper Marius Paukšte, 30, has been with Džiugas since 2020 when the club was in the Pirma Lyga. This past season, he missed nearly four months due to a shoulder injury, but he performed admirably when on the field. In 19 league matches, he conceded just 17 goals and achieved ten clean sheets.
The former Utenis and FK Palanga goalkeeper is aiming to reach the milestone of 100 appearances in the A Lyga next season; he currently has 67 games to his name, with 16 of those being clean sheets.
