Valmiers joins FK Tukums, Samoilovs re-signs

Latvian football club FK Tukums 2000 has made headlines with key roster updates ahead of the upcoming Virslīga season. The club has secured the services of Dāvis Mārcis Valmiers, re-signed captain Bogdans Samoilovs, and bid farewell to Kristiāns Kaušelis.

Dāvis Mārcis Valmiers joins FK Tukums 2000/TELMS

Right-back Dāvis Mārcis Valmiers, former one of the FS Jelgava leaders, has joined FK Tukums to strengthen their defensive lineup. The 22-year-old Latvian international, who boasts experience with Latvia’s U21 national team. Standing at 1.80 meters, Valmiers has played 93 professional matches, contributing 5 goals and 5 assists.

In the 2024 Virslīga season, Valmiers made 32 appearances for FS Jelgava, logging 2,065 minutes and demonstrating his reliability on the field.

Bogdans Samoilovs re-signs with FK Tukums 2000/TELMS

FK Tukums 2000 has successfully retained their captain and attacking midfielder, Bogdans Samoilovs. The 24-year-old playmaker, who joined the club in July 2022, has proven to be a pivotal figure in the team’s offense.

Samoilovs registered 5 goals and 1 assist in 30 league appearances during the 2024 season. Even though some of his teammates expected more from him this season, his leadership will continue to drive FK Tukums forward.

Kristiāns Kaušelis departs FK Tukums 2000/TELMS

The departure of center-forward Kristiāns Kaušelis has been confirmed. The 21-year-old Latvian U21 international had been with the club since August 2023, contributing 4 goals and 1 assist in 31 appearances during the 2024 Virslīga campaign.

Kaušelis, who stands at 1.93 meters, brought physical presence and goal-scoring ability to the squad. His departure marks the end of a promising tenure, and he is expected to continue his career elsewhere in pursuit of further development.
