Lithuanian National Team center-back Edgaras Utkus was available to play today in the Belgium Jupiler League after serving a three-game suspension. He was suspended following a straight red card in the December 1st match against Beerschot VA.
In today’s game, his team, Cercle Brugge, hosted OH Leuven, but Utkus was an unused substitute in a minimal 1:0 win. Game-winning was scored in the 10th additional minute in the second half after Olaigbe converted a penalty kick. Cercle Brugge is in 13th place out of 16 teams in the Jupiler Pro League, with 20 points from 19 games.
Serie C (Italy)
25-year-old goalkeeper Titas Krapikas was once again in goal for his Italian Serie C side, ACR Messina, as they suffered their third consecutive defeat, losing 1-2 away against Potenza. Titas joined ACR Messina as a free agent at the beginning of the season and has made 14 appearances, keeping four clean sheets. His team is currently in 18th place out of 20 in Serie C – Group C, with 16 points from 20 games.
Another Lithuanian goalkeeper, Ovidijus Siaulys, did not participate as his team, Entella, won 2-1 against the AC Milan U23 side. Siaulys, who started at the beginning of the season and made nine appearances, lost his place to Italian goalkeeper Del Frate. The last time Ovidijus played for Entella was on October 27th October 27th. After 20 games, Entella is in a three-way tie for first place with 41 points.
Linas Megelaitis returned to the starting lineup after missing one game. His team, Rimini, played a 0-0 draw against Carpi, and Megelaitis was on the field the entire match. This season, he has made 19 appearances for Rimini in Serie C, all as a starter. They sit in 7th place after 20 league games, with 29 points.
