FK Auda has announced that defensive midfielder Deniss Meļņiks has extended his contract with the club until June 30, 2026.
Standing at 1.90 meters, Meļņiks has showcased his versatility and defensive prowess throughout his tenure. In the 2024 Virslīga season, he made 27 league appearances, contributing five goals. He also played a key role in the Latvian Cup, featuring in three matches and adding stability to the midfield and also in defence. On the European stage, Meļņiks participated in six UEFA Conference League qualifiers.
Since starting his professional career, Meļņiks has accumulated 105 matches across various clubs, scoring seven goals and registering one assist.
Meļņiks made his debut for the Latvian national team on September 10, 2024, and has earned three caps so far. With his contract extension, FK Auda continues to build around the young Latvian.
FK Auda previously announced that they will not continue working with four Latvian players: Krišs Kārkliņš, Vjačeslavs Isajevs, Iļja Korotkovs, and Aleksejs Saveljevs, signaling further changes to their roster.
