Falkirk secured their first Scottish Premiership victory of the season by beating Hearts 2-1, with Latvia international Deniss Meļņiks introduced late on to help protect the lead.
Ben Krauhaus put Falkirk ahead in the eighth minute, but Hearts equalised 14 minutes later. Owen Eames, the 19-year-old English forward, restored Falkirk’s advantage in the 68th minute.
Meļņiks came on in the 86th minute as Falkirk held on for three points after collecting only two from their opening five league matches. The result ended Hearts’ four-match winning run in the Premiership and gave them their first defeat since 1st of August. Falkirk visit St Johnstone in Perth on Saturday.
