In the closing match of Tonybet Virslīga Matchday 6, Riga FC secured a convincing 4-1 away win over SK Super Nova, with Mohamed Badamosi scoring twice on his first start of the season and moving to the top of the league’s scoring charts.

Super Nova were forced into a last-minute change even before kickoff, as first-choice goalkeeper Sergejs Vilkovs picked up an injury during the warm-up. Dāvis Viljams Veisbuks stepped in for only his second appearance of the season, but it quickly turned into a difficult afternoon. Already in the 2nd minute, Badamosi opened the scoring, heading home from a cross to give Riga an early lead.

Riga continued to dominate and doubled their advantage in the 34th minute, when Badamosi struck again – this time finishing from close range after a well-worked attacking move. The visitors looked in full control, but Super Nova managed to respond before halftime. In the 41st minute, Ibrahima Ndiaye powered in a header from a set piece to make it 2-1 and briefly bring the hosts back into the game.

However, Riga restored their lead almost immediately. Renārs Varslavāns got a touch on a cross in front of goal, sending the ball rolling towards the line, and despite Veisbuks’ desperate attempt to recover, it had already crossed over – with the goal later recorded as an own goal.

Any hopes of a comeback were effectively ended early in the second half. In the 51st minute, Reginaldo Ramires finished from close range to extend Riga’s lead to 4-1 after a sequence of blocked attempts inside the box.

From there, Riga comfortably managed the game, creating additional chances while limiting Super Nova to long-range efforts. The hosts came closest late on through Diallo Ndiaye, but his effort was well saved by Krišjānis Zviedris.

With this win, Riga FC move up to second place in the standings. They will next face FK Grobiņa away on Saturday, while Super Nova – whose three-match winning streak came to an end – will take on league leaders RFS on the same day.

SK Super Nova vs FC RFS – 1-4 (1-3)
Goals: Ndiaye 41′ | Badamosi 2′ 34′, Veisbuks 42′ (Own goal), Ramires 51′
