Saku Sporting continued their early-season hold over FC Flora by beating the reigning champions 4-3 in the second round of Estonia’s women’s Meistriliiga on Sunday.
The result followed Saku’s Super Cup success against the same opponents just 23 days earlier, with another one-goal margin separating the sides.
Flora led after 10 minutes when Katriin Saulus opened the scoring, but Saku turned the game around before the break through Gretlin Pihlak and Darina Kudjavnina to go in front.
Saulus struck again early in the second half, punishing a misplaced pass from the Saku goalkeeper to level at 2-2.
Eliisabet Pedak restored Saku’s advantage on 55 minutes, only for Darja Uzjukina to equalise again nine minutes later.
The decisive moment came in the 68th minute when Viktoria Toding scored what proved to be the winner, sealing another statement victory for the Super Cup holders.
