Reginaldo Ramires, a 23-year-old forward for Riga FC, has been recognized as the Player of the Month for October-November after a close competition with Jānis Ikaunieks. This is Ramires’s first time receiving the award this season and marks the first time a Riga FC player has earned the honor during this campaign.
In October and November, Riga FC had a flawless run in the Latvian Virslīga, winning all five of their matches against FS Jelgava, FK Tukums 2000/TELMS, BFC Daugavpils, FK Metta, and FC RFS. They secured victories over FS Jelgava, BFC Daugavpils, and FC RFS away from home, while beating FK Metta and BFC Daugavpils on their own turf. The team earned the maximum 15 points from these games, with a remarkable goal difference of 23 scored and only two conceded. A standout moment was their record-breaking 10-1 win over FK Tukums 2000/TELMS.
Ramires played a key role in Riga FC’s success, starting in all five matches and contributing six goals and two assists. His performance included a hat-trick against FK Tukums 2000/TELMS, crucial goals against BFC Daugavpils and FK Metta, and a decisive winner in the derby against FC RFS. Over the season, Ramires scored a total of 25 goals, making him the league’s top scorer. Notably, he represented both FK Auda and Riga FC during the season, finishing his campaign strongly with Riga FC.
The Player of the Month award is decided by the Latvian Football Federation’s Coaches’ Council and the Latvian Football Virslīga. For October-November, nominees included Jānis Ikaunieks, Stefan Panić (FC RFS), Reginaldo Ramires (Riga FC), Krišjānis Zviedris (FK Auda), and Dodo (FK Liepāja).
