Veteran Lithuanian goalkeeper Džiugas Bartkus started for Al Bukayriyah in a Saudi Arabia Division 1 match, where they secured a 2-1 victory against Al Jandal.

Coming into this second-division game, Bartkus and his team were in excellent form. They had not lost in their last five matches and kept a clean sheet in each of them. Today, their opponents were another middle-of-the-table team: Al Jandal.

In the 22nd minute, Al Shereid scored to give Bartkus’s side the lead. However, Bartkus’s impressive streak of 555 minutes without conceding a goal in the league came to an end when he was beaten by a penalty taken by Tunisian player Amri.

The game-winning goal was scored by Argentinian defender Fernando Pinero in the 72nd minute. After ten league games, Al Bukayriyah currently sits in 6th place with 15 points.
