FK Grobiņa continued their strong start to the Tonybet Virslīga season by securing a 1-0 away win over FS Jelgava, punishing an early mistake to claim their second victory of the campaign.
The decisive moment came in the 14th minute, when a costly error in Jelgava’s half changed the course of the match. David Holoubek was dispossessed by Japanese midfielder Hirotaka Yamada, who quickly played the ball forward to Artjoms Puzirevskis. The forward made no mistake, calmly converting to give Grobiņa the lead.
Jelgava enjoyed more possession throughout the first half but struggled to turn it into meaningful chances, allowing the visitors to go into the break with a narrow 1-0 advantage.
