Latvia international striker Roberts Uldriķis came on as a substitute as Arminia Bielefeld rescued a late point in a 2-2 draw against Paderborn in the 2. Bundesliga.
The 27-year-old forward, who had started the previous five matches, entered the game in the 73rd minute with his team trailing 1-2. Uldriķis had two good chances to score after coming on, but was unable to convert from promising positions.
However, Arminia managed to equalize in the 90th minute when American midfielder Mael Corboz converted a penalty to secure a point for the hosts.
The match marked Uldriķis’ ninth appearance of the season in Germany’s second division. The Latvian striker has recorded two goals and one assist so far in the campaign.
Following the draw, Arminia Bielefeld remain just above the relegation zone, sitting 14th with 28 points from 18 teams in the league table.
Arminia’s next match, which will be their final game before the March international break, will take place next Saturday away against Elversberg.
Meanwhile, in the Czech top division, both Rihards Matrevics and Marko Regža saw their teams secure clean-sheet victories. Dukla Prague, with goalkeeper Matrevics watching from the bench, claimed an important 2-0 win over Jablonec. It was Dukla’s first league victory since October 25, helping them close the gap to the teams above the relegation places. Matrevics, who recently returned from a minor injury, has not played since February 8.
Hradec Králové, where Latvian striker Marko Regža plays, also won 1-0 against Baník Ostrava. Regža entered the match as a substitute in the 78th minute. After 26 matches, Hradec Králové sit seventh in the table with 37 points, while the 27-year-old Regža is still searching for his first goal in Czech football.
