Latvian forward Marko Regža made his first start in the Czech top flight as Hradec Králové secured a convincing 3-0 home victory over Dukla Prague, whose goal was defended by Latvian international Rihards Matrevics.

The all-Latvian matchup attracted particular attention, as Regža was named in the starting eleven for the first time since signing with Hradec Králové, while Matrevics started between the posts for Dukla Prague, as he has throughout the season.

The Czech First League resumed last week following the winter break. Regža made his league debut as a substitute in a 0-1 loss to Sigma Olomouc, while Dukla Prague suffered a heavy 0-3 defeat against Sparta Prague. Both sides entered the match looking for their first league win of 2026, with Hradec Králové making the stronger start.

The hosts took firm control in the first half. Midfielder Vladimir Darida struck twice within a three-minute spell, beating Matrevics on both occasions to give Hradec a 2-0 advantage.

Dukla Prague showed more initiative after the break and spent long periods pushing forward, but were unable to convert their chances. In contrast, Hradec Králové remained clinical, extending their lead in the 51st minute when experienced midfielder Adam Vlkanova scored to make it 3-0.

The result gave Hradec Králové their first league victory of the new year and lifted them to seventh place in the table. Regža played 83 minutes in what was his second appearance in the Czech top division.

For Matrevics, it marked a second consecutive match conceding three goals since the winter restart. Dukla Prague remain bottom of the standings with 14 points from 21 matches as the second half of the season continues.
