The calendar of fixtures for the new Tonybet Virslīga season has been announced. Virslīga 2026 will get underway on March 6 at LNK Sporta Parks, where FC RFS will host league newcomers Ogre United in the opening match of the championship.
Two more first-round fixtures will follow on March 7. BFC Daugavpils will welcome FK Grobiņa, while FK Liepāja will face reigning champions Riga FC at home. The opening round concludes on March 8, with FS Jelgava taking on FK Tukums 2000 and FK Auda meeting SK Super Nova at Mežaparks.
The second round of fixtures follows quickly and already brings an early benchmark for several sides. On March 13, FK Liepāja host FC RFS at the Daugava Stadium artificial pitch, a match that shapes up as one of the first major tests of the season. For Liepāja in particular, facing last season’s runners-up at such an early stage will offer a clear indication of their readiness to compete at the top end of the table.
Elsewhere in round two, FK Grobiņa take on FK Auda on March 14, while Riga FC face BFC Daugavpils later the same day at Mežaparks. The round concludes on March 15, with SK Super Nova meeting FS Jelgava at LNK Sporta Parks and Ogre United hosting FK Tukums 2000 in Salaspils – the same stadium where Super Nova played during their debut season back in 2022.
The season’s first Big Riga derby is scheduled for April 28, at the end of the opening round of fixtures. The same matchup will also close the championship on November 8, marking the final round of the 2026 Virslīga season.
