Lithuania national team goalkeeper Marius Adamonis recorded his second consecutive clean sheet in Italy’s Serie B, playing a key role as FC Südtirol secured a convincing 3-0 home victory over Padova.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper made his 18th league appearance of the season and continued an excellent run of form following the winter break. Südtirol have now won three matches in a row – already surpassing their entire first-half tally, when they managed just two victories from 18 games.

Adamonis dealt confidently with all four shots on target he faced against Padova. Across the last three matches, he has stopped eight of the nine shots directed on goal and is currently on a 239-minute streak without conceding.

Thanks to this strong January run, Südtirol have moved well clear of the relegation zone. Having started the new year among the bottom sides, they now sit 11th in the 20-team league with 25 points, five points above the relegation play-off positions.

For Adamonis, who is in his second season with the club, this was his fourth clean sheet in 18 Serie B appearances this campaign.

Südtirol will look to extend their winning streak next Saturday when they host Catanzaro, who currently occupy eighth place, seven points ahead of Adamonis’ side.
