According to Colombian sports journalist Pilar Velasques, Colombian left-back Andrés Salazar is close to joining Latvian Champions Riga FC.
Salazar (23) is under contract with Colombian top tier side Atlético Nacional, of which academy he is also a product of. Despite his young age, he already has experience of European football, having spent a few months on loan with Heart of Midlothian, in Scotland. Arriving as a hot prospect, his loan was terminated by the Edinburgh side after the young Colombian managed only a single appearance over his 4-month tenure, in a 3-1 loss to Motherwell.
According to our sources, Salazar signing with Riga FC is not a done deal and he will first be joining the club in their Dubai training camp on trial.
