Premium Liiga side Tartu JK Tammeka have announced the signing of experienced winger Pavel Marin on a two-year contract.

The 30-year-old spent the previous five seasons with Nõmme Kalju, where he was a long-time regular and an important figure in the squad. His playing time decreased last season compared to previous campaigns, as he made 18 league appearances and scored one goal. Overall, Marin featured in 152 matches for Kalju, finding the net 34 times.

Marin will now look to relaunch his career in Tartu, with JK Tammeka having finished eighth in the Premium Liiga last season. Speaking after completing the move, the winger outlined his ambitions for the new campaign:

“My goal this season is to help JK Tammeka in every match and to fulfill the objectives set by the club for the team. First of all, I need to prepare myself properly for the season, and that work has already begun at the Annemõisa football hall,” said the new Tartu signing.

JK Tammeka board member and squad planning coordinator Kristjan Tiirik highlighted the qualities Marin brings to the team:

“Pavel Marin strengthens the squad in key positions. He is a hard-working footballer and has experience from top-level teams that can be especially beneficial for younger teammates,” Tiirik noted.

Marin is an Estonian league champion and a two-time Estonian Cup winner with Levadia. He has earned 14 caps for the Estonia national team, scoring two goals. In his career, he has represented Viljandi JK Tulevik, Tallinna FCI Levadia, Kokkolan PV in Finland, and Tallinna FC Puuma, in addition to his long spell at Nõmme Kalju.

In the A. Le Coq Premium Liiga, Marin has made 285 appearances, scoring 48 goals, bringing valuable experience to Tartu JK Tammeka as they prepare for the upcoming season.
