Three-time World Cup player Eric Wynalda appointed Nõmme United manager

Nõmme United have appointed former United States international Eric Wynalda as their new head coach, with the 57-year-old taking charge of the Premium liiga club.

Wynalda has made 106 appearances for the United States, scoring 34 goals and represented his country at the 1990, 1994 and 1998 World Cups. He also played in Germany’s Bundesliga for Saarbrücken and Bochum, as well as representing clubs in the United States and Mexico.

The former forward helped the United States win the 1991 CONCACAF Gold Cup and scored a free-kick against Switzerland at the 1994 World Cup. He was named in the 1995 Copa América team of the tournament and later received further recognition with places in the CONCACAF team of the century and the US Soccer Hall of Fame.

Since retiring, Wynalda has worked as a coach and technical director in the United States, while also pursuing a career in football media.
