Estonian national team defender Joseph Saliste has announced his departure from Paide Linnameeskond after six years with the club. The 30-year-old confirmed the news on his social media accounts as his contract expires at the end of the season.

Saliste joined Paide in 2020 after sevelar years at the Flora Tallinn, where he won two Estonian league titles and one Estonian Cup. Over six seasons in Paide colors, he became one of the team’s longest-serving players, making 218 appearances and scoring eight goals.

This Premium Liiga season, Saliste played 33 matches and provided three assists, helping Paide finish in fourth place.

On social media, Saliste reflected on his time at the club:

“Six years that will always be remembered positively! We won four Premium Liiga medals, one Estonian Cup, one Super Cup and defeated five different opponents in the UEFA Europa Conference League – but most importantly, it’s about the people I shared this journey with.”

“A huge thank you to the entire club, teammates, coaches, staff and fans – your support has been incredible. These six years in Paide gave me more than I ever imagined. Thank you for everything, Paide!”

During his time at Paide, Saliste also returned to the Estonian national team after more than seven years away and has now made 10 international appearances under coach Jürgen Henn.
