Estonian Premium Liiga side JK Narva Trans have announced that Georgian centre-back Shalva Burjanadze has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2027 season.

The 27-year-old defender joined Narva Trans ahead of the 2024 campaign and has since become a key figure at the heart of the team’s backline. This season, Burjanadze has featured in 31 league matches, scoring once and providing two assists – establishing himself as one of the most reliable defenders in the squad.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Burjanadze expressed his delight at continuing in Narva:

“I’m very happy to keep playing for Narva. I want to thank the club’s management and coaching staff for their trust – especially head coach Roman Kozhukhovsky, who played a big role in my time here. My decision to stay was based on the great potential this team has. The club has made big progress, and it will continue to grow in the future.”

“I also want to thank my teammates for creating such a friendly atmosphere, where everyone knows their role. Narva Trans has always been known for its fighting spirit, and that will only get stronger. It’s time for this team to fight for medals, and we’ll do everything to achieve that!”

Since arriving in Estonia, Burjanadze has made 70 appearances across all competitions for the club based in the country’s easternmost city. Before moving to Narva, the Georgian defender had spent his entire career in his homeland, playing for several clubs in Georgia’s top division.

Narva Trans will wrap up their season tomorrow with an away match against Tartu JK Tammeka, looking to finish the campaign on a positive note.
