Lithuanian international Justas Lasickas played the full 90 minutes today as his club HNK Rijeka claimed a 4-2 home victory over Osijek in the Croatian top division.

The 28-year-old full-back completed his second full match in just three days for Rijeka. Earlier this week, the Croatian champions defeated Czech side Sparta Prague 1-0 in a rescheduled UEFA Conference League fixture, and today they returned to domestic action in style.

Osijek took an early lead in just the second minute, but Rijeka responded strongly, scoring twice before halftime to overturn the deficit and go ahead 2-1. Within the first ten minutes of the second half, Rijeka struck twice more to make it 4-1, before Osijek pulled one goal back – but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

For Lasickas, this was his eighth league appearance since joining the Croatian side following three successful seasons with Slovenian side Olimpija Ljubljana.

Rijeka, the defending Croatian champions, have endured a challenging start to the season. With 14 points from 11 matches, they currently sit seventh in the standings, trailing leaders Hajduk Split by 11 points.

Rijeka’s next fixture comes on Saturday, when they travel to face Croatian powerhouse Dinamo Zagreb.
