Riga FC Women completed another chapter of their historic season on Saturday, capturing their first Latvian Women’s Cup title in emphatic fashion. In the final held at Skonto Stadium, the newly crowned national champions dismantled FK Auda with a resounding 7-0 win.

The tone was set early in the match by Sierra Leonean striker Kumba Brima, who struck a first-half hat-trick to put Riga firmly in control before the break. In the second half, Laura Sondore and Japanese midfielder Natsumi Taketa extended the lead, while late goals from American forward Alexxis Lipsey and Renāte Gaugere sealed a comprehensive victory.

Riga’s path to the trophy was marked by similarly dominant performances. They crushed FS Metta 7-0 in the quarter-finals and overcame defending champions RFS Women 4-0 in a repeat of last year’s final.

For Auda, this was their first appearance in a cup final. Their impressive run included victories over FK Jelgava 2-0, FC Talsi/Tukums 5-0 and Rīgas Futbola skola 1-0 in the semi-finals.

The cup triumph gives Riga FC Women the chance to complete a remarkable treble this season. On October 29, they will contest the final of the Baltic Women’s Football League at Mežaparks against FK Žalgiris women.
