
In the Czech First League, Lithuanian winger Artur Dolžnikov opened his scoring account for the season as Sigma Olomouc defeated Jablonec 2-0.
The 25-year-old started once again for Sigma and broke the deadlock in the 24th minute, receiving a pass inside the penalty area before a quick feint and a powerful left-footed strike into the net made it 1-0. Sigma doubled their lead before halftime, securing all three points.
Dolžnikov played 73 minutes before being substituted. So far this season, he has made seven league appearances, registering one goal. With the victory, Sigma Olomouc sit fourth in the table with 18 points from 11 matches.
In the Croatian First League, Lithuanian full-back Justas Lasickas played almost the entire match as HNK Rijeka claimed a 3-1 away victory over Gorica.
The 27-year-old started for the first time since August 24, marking his return to the lineup after joining Rijeka earlier this season following three years in Slovenia with NK Olimpija Ljubljana. So far, Lasickas has featured in seven league matches this campaign.
Despite the win, defending Croatian champions Rijeka currently sit eighth in the table with 10 points from nine games, already nine points behind joint leaders Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split.
Meanwhile, in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, Romualdas Jansonas made his second appearance for Arouca, coming off the bench in a 1-1 draw against Famalicão.
The 20-year-old forward, who made his debut earlier in the week against FC Porto in a 0-4 defeat, was introduced in the 55th minute this time. Just three minutes later, Afonso Trezza put Arouca in front, but Justin De Haas equalized late in the second half to deny them victory.
Elsewhere in Italy’s Serie B, Lithuanian goalkeeper Marius Adamonis played the full match as his side Sudtirol suffered a 1-2 defeat against Empoli.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper faced five shots on target and managed to save three of them. After seven rounds, Sudtirol are positioned 10th in the standings with nine points.
In Turkey’s second division, Modestas Vorobjovas completed another full 90 minutes for Istanbulspor AS, who were beaten 1-2 away by Igdir FK.
The 29-year-old midfielder has now made nine league appearances this season. Istanbulspor currently occupy 13th place with 11 points from nine games.
