Nineteen-year-old Lithuanian defender Nojus Audinis registered his first-ever assist in the Czech First League, playing a key role in Teplice’s 3-1 victory over Dukla Prague.

A product of the Šiauliai academy, Audinis has cemented a starting spot this season, making his fourth consecutive league start on Saturday. Facing Dukla, he was heavily involved throughout. After a 1-1 first half, the Prague side went down to ten men shortly after the restart, and Teplice capitalized. In the 71st minute, Audinis surged down the right flank from midfield and delivered a pinpoint cross that teammate Maryas Kozak headed home to give Teplice a 2-1 lead.

The visitors later added a third to seal the win, with Audinis completing the full 90 minutes for the fourth straight game. It was already his eighth appearance of the campaign in the Czech top tier. The result lifted Teplice four places off the bottom, climbing to 12th with nine points from 11 matches. After the international break, Teplice will host Slovan Liberec on October 18.

Meanwhile in Romania’s top division, fellow Lithuanian international Edvinas Gertmonas endured a frustrating evening as Universitatea Cluj fell 1-2 away to Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc. The goalkeeper made three saves from five shots faced but could not prevent his side from extending their winless run to four matches.

After 12 rounds, Cluj sit ninth in the standings with 14 points.
