Tukums 2000 celebrated a vital and second consecutive victory in the Virslīga today, coming from behind at home to best SK Super Nova 2–1. The result moves Tukums into seventh place, level with FS Jelgava, while leaving their opponents mired in trouble with a fourth successive defeat.

The visitors struck first in the 13th minute. After goalkeeper Ņikita Parfjonovs had tipped away Agris Glaudāns’ long-range shot, Ryuga Nakamura reacted quickest from the ensuing corner, rising above the defence to head in his fifth league goal of the season. It was the Japanese midfielder’s third goal in less than two months across both league and cup.

Tukums nearly equalised through another Japanese player, Atsushi Kurokawa, but his header from Bogdans Samoilovs’ pass was saved by Dāvis Veisbuks. Super Nova made two changes at the break, including the returns of Jegors Cīrulis and Mikus Vasiļevskis after long layoffs, but the momentum shifted.

In the 64th minute, Kurokawa turned up the danger once again, sending Niks Dusalijevs clear to smash home the equaliser – his fifth of the campaign but first since mid-June. In the 86th minute, Samoilovs swung a ball in from the corner flag. Veisbuks was caught out and substitute Raivis Ķiršs was on hand to steer it over the line for 2–1.

With the win, Tukums pulls further clear of the relegation zone, while Super Nova’s survival hopes continue to fade after their fourth straight loss.
