In the Premium Liiga Matchday 30 battle Paide Linnameeskond survived a late scare in Narva, edging Trans 3-2 after nearly letting a three-goal cushion slip away.
The opening minutes suggested a balanced contest, and the first clear look actually fell to the hosts. Josue Doke broke through but pushed his shot past the post when faced with Ebrima Jarju. From there, however, Paide seized control. In the 10th minute, Doke’s handball inside the box handed the visitors a penalty, which Bubacarr Trawally converted with precision for 1-0 for his second goal in three matches.
The away side didn’t stop pressing. Trawally rattled the upright after a dazzling solo run, and by the 26th minute the lead was doubled. Siim Luts slipped past Aleksander Filatov and lofted the ball over Aleksandr Kraizmer, allowing Martin Miller to finish into an empty net. Moments later, Luts struck again himself, blasting in from distance to make it 3-0 and silence the home crowd.
Trans gradually regained rhythm and pulled one back right after the interval. Filatov was fouled in the area, and Ahmad Gero fired the penalty kick high into the net. The comeback grew louder on 61 minutes when Doke turned in Stanislav Agaptsev’s cross from point-blank range to cut the deficit to a single goal.
With half an hour left, Paide’s earlier dominance gave way to a more cautious approach. They offered little going forward but remained disciplined at the back. The best chance for an equalizer came in the 84th minute when Mykhailo Kozhushko slipped through on goal, only for Jarju to race out and block with his legs, securing three valuable points for Paide.
After this win Paide move three points clear of Nomme Kalju who are 4th in the league table, while JK Narva Trans hopes for a Top 3 finish are almost coming to an end as Paide advantage with six matches to go reaches 11 points.
