Estonian club Paide Linnameeskond has confirmed the transfer of 19-year-old Gambian forward Pa Assan Corr to DAC Dunajská Streda, currently sitting third in Slovakia’s top division.
Corr joined Paide ahead of the current season and quickly made an impression. In the Estonian Premium Liiga, he scored three goals in 17 appearances, while also netting nine goals in 10 matches for Paide’s second team in Esiliiga B. On the European stage, Corr grabbed the spotlight by scoring twice in the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round. His performances have now earned him a four-year contract with Dunajská Streda.
Speaking about the transfer, Paide’s sporting director Gert Kams praised both the striker’s potential and the role of the coaching staff in his development:
“Assan’s talent and his ability to succeed at a higher level were clear from the moment he arrived in Paide. His work ethic, combined with our coaches’ purposeful and dedicated approach, made it possible for him to progress so quickly. Assan is yet another young striker who is taking a big step forward from Paide. We wish him success and perseverance in Slovakia.”
In his farewell message, Corr expressed gratitude to the club, his teammates, and the fans:
“Joining Paide in January was an incredibly important step in my career. I was welcomed warmly and immediately felt at home — by the team, the supporters, both on and off the pitch. It has been a great honor to wear the Paide Linnameeskond badge on my chest. Even though my time here was short, I feel deep gratitude for the trust and belief shown in me. Thank you to everyone!”
DAC Dunajská Streda, Corr’s new home, has made a strong start to the Slovak Super Liga season. After five matches, they have won three and drawn two, leaving them just one point behind league leaders Spartak Trnava.
