Lithuanian A Lyga side FC Džiugas Telšiai continues to bolster its ranks ahead of the second half of the season with the signing of Ukrainian midfielder Denys Bunchukov.

The 22-year-old arrives after spending the past three seasons in the lower tiers of Belgian football. Last year, he featured in 31 matches for Belisia Bilzen, including three appearances in the domestic cup, where his team made an impressive run before falling to top-flight giants Club Brugge.

Bunchukov began his footballing journey in the youth academy of Dynamo Kyiv but made the move to England in 2020 to continue his development and gain playing experience. In 2022, he transitioned to Belgian football, where he also represented the reserves of RFC Seraing and later played for URSL Visé.

As things stand in the A Lyga table, Džiugas sits level on 28 points with two other teams, sharing positions five through seven. The team will play its 22nd league match of the season today, taking on current second-placed FK Sūduva in a key away fixture.
