Lithuanian winger Artūr Dolžnikov began his Czech First League season on a positive note, helping Sigma Olomouc secure a hard-fought 1–0 away victory over Slovácko. The 25-year-old started the match and played 65 minutes, making a noticeable impact in his season debut.

Dolžnikov, who was part of the Sigma squad that lifted the Czech Cup last season and made 10 league appearances, was trusted with a starting role. He was active on the flank and involved in attacking phases, registering three shots on goal during his time on the pitch.

In the first half, Dolžnikov was shown a yellow card for a rough challenge — the only blemish on an otherwise industrious performance. Just before being substituted in the 65th minute, he came agonizingly close to scoring with a header from the center of the box that drifted just wide.

At the time of his substitution, the score remained 0–0, but Sigma found their breakthrough just 10 minutes later. Daniel Vašulín, on loan from Viktoria Plzeň and making his debut for Olomouc, fired in a precise strike from around 16 meters into the far corner — a goal that proved to be the match-winner.

Sigma Olomouc leave Uherské Hradiště with three points in the bag and a strong start to the campaign, with Dolžnikov playing a key role in their early-season momentum.

Next up for Sigma Olomouc is their first home match of the season next Saturday, when they host Dukla Prague.
