Paide Linnameeskond has strengthened its defensive line with the signing of 23-year-old Brazilian centre-back Victor Hugo Dos Santos Da Sa. The left-footed defender arrives from Brazilian side Capivarino FC, with the Estonian club securing his playing rights in a permanent deal.

Victor Hugo most recently featured for Capivarino in the second division of the São Paulo state league, helping the club achieve promotion to the state’s top tier with a league title this season. Known for its focus on youth development, Capivarino has produced several promising talents, and Paide sees significant potential in the young Brazilian, according to a post on the club’s official Facebook page.

Paide’s sporting director Gert Kams praised the new signing:
“Victor Hugo is a defender with strong physical attributes. His versatility, speed, and aggression give us another gear at the back, and he’s also capable of playing as a left-back if needed,” Kams noted.

The player himself expressed excitement about the move:
“I’m very happy to have arrived in Paide. My teammates have welcomed me warmly, and I already feel great here. I’m confident and ready to write a beautiful story with the club and our fans in the Paide shirt!”

Victor Hugo could make his debut as soon as this Sunday when Paide hosts Narva Trans at 19:00. He has also been registered for the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round match against Swedish giants AIK, scheduled for July 24 at 18:30 in Kadriorg Stadium.
